We've all been there — sifting through lengthy and tedious SEC filings, with some (including myself) often skipping them. Recognizing this challenge, we're excited to roll out "Analyze", a feature that simplifies this process, delivering the core insights in a succinct, 2-minute read.

AI output organization

• Consistent structure for every summary;
• Headlines offer a quick snapshot of the main message;
• Segments like Revenue, Strengths, Challenges, and Noteworthy Points are clearly defined for easy comprehension;
• The Final Summary ties everything together, ensuring a comprehensive understanding in a concise format.

We've ensured that every piece of essential information from the 10-Q files is included, yet organized in a manner that's consistently easy to read and understand. Understanding that in-depth financial modeling requires both accuracy and efficiency, this update aims to improve your workflow. We’re introducing “Model with Excel,” designed to automate data preparation so you can focus on making informed financial predictions.

Here’s what’s packed into this update:

• One-click data export: A single keypress will generate an Excel file filled with the company’s income statement history, spanning multiple quarters or years.
• Pre-calculated metrics: Save time and reduce error with pre-calculated standard metrics such as Gross and Net margins.
• Analyst estimates integration: To assist in your forecasting, the exported Excel file will include estimates from financial analysts.
• DCF-ready: The data and calculations are organized for easy integration into your discounted cash flow models.

To use this feature, simply hit ⌘K and look for "Model with Excel," or navigate to any financial page and click on the Excel icon located in the top-right corner.

We know how crucial it is to have all the info you need at your fingertips. This update aims to give you a more complete picture of a stock's financial health, all in one place, so this update includes:

• Track past, current, and future earnings: Get a comprehensive view of how a stock has performed and what's expected down the line.
• Calendar integration: See an upcoming earnings report you don't want to miss? Just hit "B" on any stock, and it'll be added to your calendar. Yep, it's that simple.
• Listen to earnings calls: Stay in the loop by listening to current and previous earnings calls right from the page.

To take advantage of these new features, simply head over to a stock page and scroll down to the earnings section. If you spot an upcoming earnings report you don't want to miss, just press 'B' to add it to your calendar. Want to listen to current or previous earnings calls? Click the play button, and you're all set.

What's new

• Craft custom lists: Now, you have the power to create personalized lists tailored to your preferences and investment strategies.
• Manual symbol sorting: Take control of your watchlist by manually sorting symbols as you see fit, providing you with a more intuitive organization.
• Select multiple items: We've made it easier for you to manage your selections. You can now select multiple items simultaneously.
• Performance-based sorting: Enhance your decision-making with the ability to sort items by their performance metrics, giving you quick insights into your investments.
• Undock as a standalone widget: One feature that truly sets this update apart is the ability to undock the watchlist and use it as a standalone widget. Customize your workspace to suit your needs.

But it's not just about features; we've also fine-tuned the user experience. It's now keyboard-friendly, allowing you to effortlessly navigate between windows with a simple press of the W key. Plus, you can access stock information, news, and financials directly from the widget.

The issue

Due to a config error in our cron jobs, some system-level overrides weren't allowed. Specifically, we couldn't override the properties `[core]num_years_history` and `[core]num_quarters_history`, which caused a bug in our processing pipeline. This glitch messed up the financial data flow for our instruments (symbols) and led to missing annual financial info for years before 2020 in the 'Annual' tab.

What has changed?

• Speed optimization: Fey is now significantly faster. We’ve managed to cut the load time from 2-4 seconds to virtually 0 seconds.
• State management update: We’ve moved from global app state to page state, fetching only the data required for the current page. By transitioning from our sync engine to SWR, data requests are more targeted, robust, and efficient.
• Auth simplification: The authentication process has been streamlined by reducing roles and tokens. By removing unnecessary network requests for authentication, we’ve made sign-in smoother.
• Local storage caching: Key states are now stored in local storage, facilitating even faster and smoother subsequent loads.
• Product simplification: We’ve removed app state from the backend, making the product purely client-driven. This change aligns with our philosophy of user-centered design, delivering a more responsive and intuitive experience.

This is where our enhanced insider reports pages come in handy. The improved filtering and color-coded symbols allow you to track and interpret this insider trading activity more easily, leading to more informed investment decisions. As always, we strive to equip you with the most accurate and accessible financial information, so you can invest confidently.

Why we did this

Our passwordless authentication system is designed to provide enhanced security and a better user experience. You can log in to Fey using just your email address, and we'll send you a unique link to access your account. This eliminates the risks associated with poor password choices and management, as well as the frustration of forgotten passwords. Our magic links expire after 5 minutes, and we display the location from where the authentication link was requested for additional transparency and security.

We’ve also put significant effort into crafting the design and user experience of our authentication system. From the email design to the subtle animations, making the process more engaging and intuitive.

With the latest update, searching within our app is more intuitive and efficient than ever before.
Firstly, we've eliminated unnecessary clicks and navigation by automatically replacing the current page with the selected result. This means that you can quickly and easily find what you're looking for without having to navigate back and forth.

Additionally, our search now takes into account where you are in the app and offers contextual results. For example, if you're viewing a company profile, the search suggestions will include the company's peers.

To access the search command, you can press from anywhere within the app.
